JOHN BANOVICH - MEMORY OF A LOST LOVE
John Banovich, recognized internationally for his large, dramatic portrayals of iconic wildlife, captures on canvas the essence of a creature and share it with others in a way that inspires them to not only see the art but to react to it. His paintings have been showcased on network television, magazine covers, the walls of museums and homes of the world’s most discriminating connoisseurs and NBC has written about his dedication to his conservation work and named him an NBC Cause Celebrity. His quest to capture the ancient mystery in the eyes of the beasts spans from Montana where he was born, to the farthest reaches of the globe including, Russia, Asia and his beloved Africa. Under the umbrella of his Banovich Wildscapes Foundation, money generated through artwork sales has been channeled back into support efforts that promote habitat protection, science-based wildlife management and sustainable tourism.
His life-sized paintings have drawn global attention to ivory poaching and his deep knowledge of wildlife and unwavering commitment to conservation continues to raise awareness about imperiled species. Recently Banovich created an award that epitomized his synthesis of art and conservation the Award for Conservation Excellence, a non-profit award whose mission is to honor and appreciate a legacy of conservation through recognition of men and women who share their passion to conserve the great outdoors, and have made extraordinary contributions to the sustainability of nature and wildlife.
